A comprehensive hands-on course aimed at junior creatives who are looking to either start directing or make the leap from small scale studio set-ups to slightly bigger conceptual/talent-led shoots. We’ll start with the basics and all the questions you were afraid to ask, before moving onto the planning and executing of more technical or larger scale shoots. Each section will be peppered with advice, tips and tricks from DOPs, 1st ADs, producers and other promo directors – as well as their stories of where it’s gone wrong and how to avoid that happening to you!

Chris Balmond is a multi-award winning director who is represented by Outsider having previously worked with The Gate Films and Red Bee Media where he won 10 Gold Promax awards including Best Director in 2010 and 2011.
Working across a variety of genres his experience includes high profile campaigns for Puma and Capital One as well as campaigns for the BBC and ITV and has a particular bent for comedy.
