A Promax UK and Creative Access collaboration - working towards a day when Britain’s society is truly represented in our media and creative industries.

/ About Progress

The programme has three elements and is designed to last six months:

1. LEADERSHIP TRAINING

2 x 3-hour practical, interactive workshop sessions designed to help develop the confidence and skills to become an effective leader.

The leadership sessions will be split into two groups on the following dates and times. Please select the preferred group for your candidates on the nomination form (please pick one group only):

Group 1:

Session 1 – Thursday 17th  September 9am – 1pm

Session 2 – Thursday 8th October 9am – 1pm

Group 2:

Session 1 – Thursday 15th October 9am – 1pm

Session 2 -Thursday 12th November 9am – 1pm

Each group includes the two sessions detailed below:

     Session 1:

     An introduction to leadership; defining leadership competencies identifying leadership style; influence and impact on others.

     Session 2:

     Focus on self-talk and mindsets; networking and a focus; exploring how to use advocacy and enquiry; practicing stakeholder conversations.

The training will be delivered at Channel 4 and ITV by Lynn Blades, an award-winning journalist with 15 years’ experience both in front of and behind the camera in the UK & USA. Now, with over 15 years of experience as an Executive Coach with expertise in leadership and communication, she works with a cross-section of C-suite, fortune 500 execs and media execs to personalities and young adults starting their careers.

2. MENTORING

Research has shown that people from under-represented backgrounds who advance the furthest in their careers all share one characteristic; a strong network of mentors who nurture their professional development. Each individual is matched with a professional who is achieving success in their desired career field. Sessions will take place monthly for a period of six months, guidelines for both sides issued and an agreement completed to align expectations.

3. NETWORKING

Attendance at monthly evening masterclasses at leading creative organisations in the UK (such as at ITV, Facebook, LinkedIn, The Times, ITN, National Theatre); building lasting networks with other future creative leaders; invitations to conferences and training courses including free tickets for theatre performances, seminars and events.
