Trailblazing Women

BAFTA award-winning actor, writer, producer and director Sharon Horgan is confirmed as our first speaker for the upcoming PUK Talk on Wednesday 11th March at Curzon Soho. Join her for a rare and highly anticipated appearance as she closes our afternoon of panels and workshops at our Trailblazing Women event:

The sponsorship for Promax UK’s Trailblazing Women event resonated with us, as men, working in the male-dominated field of VFX.  We are conscious that at JAMVFX we don’t have an equal representation of women in the workplace; this, in spite of working with women creatives and producers on a daily basis, as well as working with some of the best directors – Juliet May, Lucy Tcherniak, MJ Delaney, Lucy Forbes and Destiny Ekaragha, to name but a few – all of whose work has played a major and invaluable role in manifesting our success at JAMVFX.

We want to address the gender imbalance, and we want to learn how we can change workplace limitations and stereotypes, to create equal opportunities for all. In supporting this event, we shine a light on the profile of the inspiring women, working in a male-dominated industry, with whom we’ve had the great good fortune to work. At JAMVFX, we currently employ 5 women which is approximately 1/3rd of our workforce.  During production, when we need more staff, we often boost the team with producers –  all of whom are women.  But, we need more women in the technical VFX side of the company to join the technical team, who are currently all men – we are making headway in our search for those women to join us.
